    The Brake Temperature Monitoring app provides you with a real-time display of the temperature of each brake disc while on track. This is invaluable information when looking for the optimum brake bias and tyre setup for a race.

    The responsive, colour display offers a visual representation via 64 individual heat maps, as well as live and maximum temperature values.

    In order to use this app, you must also purchase the Brake Temperature Monitoring Sensors & Wiring Loom (RLACS314).

  • How to upgrade?

    1. Download the latest update file below
      (Your unit must be registered to receive the required login details for the download. Register here.)
    2. Unzip the folder and place the .rvf file on to the root directory of the SD card (not in the media or any other folder).
    3. Insert the SD card into the side panel of the unpowered unit.
    4. Power up VBOX Touch.
    5. Confirm the update by pressing OK. The unit will then display an update screen with a progress bar.
    6. Once complete, the unit will restart.

    Once the firmware is successfully loaded on to the unit, the file will be removed from the SD card.

    Loaded with this app, a VBOX Touch or PerformanceBox Touch is able to give audible and visual guidance to a driver based on a pre-set speed profile. It is ideal for durability, fuel economy and tyre testing where you want to ensure consistent and repeatable test conditions with regard to speed and distance.

    The app includes the same CAN input data capture and CAN output transmission as the standard Performance app v1.5.

    The speed profile can be created by generating a .spp file in Notepad and loading it to the VBOX Touch via an SD card (after the Speed Profiler app has been installed).

  • How to upgrade?

    1. Download the latest .rpf/.rvf file below.
      (Your unit must be registered to receive the required login details for the download. Register here.)
    2. Place the file on the root directory of the SD card (not in the media or any other folder).
    3. Insert the SD card into the side panel of the unpowered unit.
    4. Power up VBOX Touch/ PerformanceBox Touch.
    5. Confirm the update by pressing OK. The unit will then display an update screen with a progress bar.
    6. Once complete, the unit will restart.

    The Multi-Function Display app allows you to use the VBOX Touch as a display when connected to a VBOX.

    It will show data from GPS and CAN-derived channels that are outputted over CAN. Up to six parameters can be displayed on a single screen, such as speed, lateral & longitudinal acceleration, radius of turn, distance travelled, heading and various brake test channels. It can also calculate and present performance test results, live from the test vehicle.

    You will need the cable 'RLCAB005-C' to connect VBOX Touch.

    2. Unzip the folder and place the .rvf file on to the root directory of the SD card (not in the media or any other folder).

    VBOX Touch (see screenshots) and Performance Box Touch come pre-installed with the Performance app.

    This app allows you to perform acceleration and deceleration tests, using one of the many pre-configured tests or by setting your own parameters. Lap timing and speed display modes enable you to see your current lap time, reference lap, live speed, average speed or maximum speed.

    VBOX Touch offers brake trigger input support, meaning you can easily test a vehicle's braking abilities using trigger and speed-to-speed methods.

    Test results are saved directly to the device's SD card and can be exported as a CSV file or a VBO file for a more detailed analysis in VBOX Test Suite.

Revert to standard functionality

If you wish to revert to the standard functionality of the VBOX Touch, you can download the Performance app again, which would have been installed on the device when you first received it. Following the same steps as for upgrading the firmware, you can re-install the app on the VBOX Touch via an SD card.

In response to customer requests, VBOX Automotive have developed a range of Community Apps that provide individual solutions to specific testing needs. These apps are available for all our customers to use, and we are keen to extend the range. If you would like to request additional features to an existing App, or have a requirement for a new Community App, please email .

Please note that Community Apps meet the requirements of the originating customer. However, they did not complete the testing cycle required to be released as a full VBOX Touch App. If you use a Community App, please provide any performance feedback to so that we can continue to improve them for all users.
