Testing and Validation of Speed Measurement Equipment

When prosecuting speeding offences, evidence must be presented that cannot be challenged: the accuracy of the device used to capture speed at the time of the offence has to be accurate.

Testing Equipment

Speed and distance verification can be conducted using any VBOX data logger, performance meter or video data logger. Our flagship data logger, the VBOX 3i RTK, offers the highest accuracy for speed, position and heading data when connected to an RTK Base Station or NTRIP service.

High Position Accuracy with RTK

Using RTK correctional data from an RTK Base Station or NTRIP solution provides positional accuracy that's within centimetre level.

Video Integration

VBOX Video data loggers offer synchronised video and data, with real-time graphical overlay. We offer a range of systems that are available with either four (SD) or two (HD) cameras, that can be mounted inside or outside the vehicle. The graphical overlay is totally user-configurable and can be easily altered to present relevant information according to the tests being conducted.

IMU Integration

A VBOX Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) can be used alongside the VBOX 3i data logger to enhance the accuracy of your data in areas with poor GPS, including tunnels. IMU integration helps to combat satellite drop-out for up to 10 seconds without lock.
