VBOX Test Suite
ADAS
VBOX Test Suite is our free data analysis software that is available to all VBOX users. It comes with five dedicated ADAS plugins, making it easy to test in accordance with all the below standards, including AEB and Park Assist.
Key Features
Vehicle overlay
The vehicle overlay section allows you to configure the required vehicle measurement points and enter antenna placement offsets when testing a Park Assist system or steering equipment.
Live test results
VBOX Test Suite is compatible with any Windows-based PC, e.g. the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet, allowing you to see your results live from the test vehicle.
You can choose which parameters are displayed live during the test including a 'Run Status' gauge, which indicates if a set Pass/Fail criterion has been met.
Test results area
Test results are presented in a user-friendly, intuiative way. You can easily filter results to include or exclude test runs, display average/max/min values and identify any runs which did not meet the required pass criteria.
Every time a new test is started, a new tab will be added to the test results area, allowing you to switch between separate tests and compare runs from each.
Euro NCAP AEB
This application allows you to test Autonomous Emergency Braking systems to Euro NCAP standards. VBOX Test Suite is split into the three main AEB test manoeuvres consisting of the car-to-car rear stationary (CCRs), car-to-car rear moving (CCRm), and car-to-car rear braking CCRb) AEB protocols.
Required NCAP parameters are hard-coded into the VBOX Test Suite software, and all relevant channels are automatically created and logged during a test.
The NCAP tests log the subject and target vehicle speeds, relative distances between them, lateral deviation, yaw and steering wheel velocity.
VBOX Test Suite also processes the data according to the boundaries set out in the relevant protocol. Every run clearly shows whether each test condition is within tolerance, and a pass/fail for the test as a whole.
This level of automation results in a significant reduction in post-processing work as well as the time already saved on track.
Park Assist
The ‘Park Assist’ plugin is designed to meet ISO regulation 204/WG14 ISO 16787 ‘Assisted Parking Systems (APS) – parking with reference to other parked vehicles’.
The test itself allows the user to validate Park Assist systems by measuring the distances between points on the vehicle and the measured parking bay. Each configured vehicle point will produce 5 range channels; 2 relative to entry points and 3 relative to the bay sides.
One of the main benefits of the Park Assist plugin is that it offers real-time display of all measured parameters, as well as customisable pass / fail conditions, so you can instantly see if your vehicle has passed the test.
The software is easy to use, and you can see an exact replica of the surveyed parking bay on screen, which you will only need to map out and enter once.
UN R79 CSF
The ‘UN R79 CSF’ test plugin allows you to complete and analyse a Commanded Steering Function test as described in the UN regulation No. 79.
Part of the test requires understanding when an Audio or Visual alert was issued within the vehicle. For both alerts the channel can be selected from a drop-down list and values need to be selected for the 'On' and 'Off' thresholds and whether they are rising or falling.
Interim Results are populated in the results' area whenever the alert On/Off status is met and the Dashboard Gauge also provides a visual representation.
The two lanes used within the test can be either loaded from a saved file or surveyed live within the software when in 'Online' mode.
UN R79 Lane Keeping
The ‘UNR79 Lane Keeping’ test allows you to complete and analyse a Lane Keeping Function test as described in the UN regulation No. 79.
All pass conditions that are required for the test such as minimum and maximum vehicle speed, maximum lateral acceleration can all be configured in the settings window.
The two lanes used within the test can be either loaded from a saved file or surveyed live within the software when in 'Online' mode.
UN R79 Maximum Lateral Acceleration
The ‘UNR79 Max Lat. Acc.’ test allows you to complete and analyse a Maximum Lateral Acceleration test as described in the UN regulation No. 79.
All pass conditions that are required for the test such as minimum and maximum vehicle speed, maximum lateral acceleration can all be configured in the settings window.
The two lanes used within the test can be either loaded from a saved file or surveyed live within the software when in 'Online' mode. Once lanes have been configured, you can use the window at the bottom to visualise the lanes. You are also able to change the associated colours and apply smoothing.
